Claudia gives lectures for W.O.M.E.N.

Last week, Claudia Ashanie Wilson, attorney and partner, gave a lecture for the association W.O.M.E.N. (the Women of Multicultural Ethnic Network in Iceland) on the rights of foreign women who divorce and separate in Iceland.  The lecture is part of W.O.M.E.N.’s program “Knowledge Breaks the Cycle” – an educational and empowerment project which aims to increase awareness of gender equality, legal rights, and available support services among women of foreign origin in Iceland. The project is partly funded by the Icelandic Ministry of Justice.

The association has asked Claudia to deliver this lecture yearly from 2020. Notably, she was previously a board member of the association, including Vice Chair in 2014. Around 30 participants listened to the 2026 edition of the lecture.

Foreign women in Iceland’s knowledge of their rights is close to Claudia’s heart, and she therefore aims for continued participation in the project.

The accompanying photo shows Claudia with Najlaa Attaallah and Zaneta Kristjana Wilson, board members of W.O.M.E.N, after the lecture on June 3rd, 2026.
